children!
Colts Neck Kids has a simple goal for the time your child spends in our ministry:
We want kids to see Jesus through God’s Word and God’s People, know and
become more like Jesus, and share Jesus with the world around them.
We believe this is most likely to happen when:
● Parents are equipped to do the work of the ministry in their own homes.
- Deut. 6:4-9, Ps. 127, Eph. 6:4
● Parents are provided the resources to train their children by the church.
● The church partners with parents to show the love of Christ through the Gospel
to children using effective and age-appropriate instruction.
- Matt. 18:1-6
Scripture affirms that only the good news of Jesus Christ can change the hearts of
children, families, neighborhoods, and schools (Col. 1:21-23). As we proclaim the
gospel to children and families, we are participating in Colt Neck’s larger mission “To
Declare and Demonstrate the Grace of Jesus Christ”.
According to Deuteronomy 6, parents have the responsibility to teach their children
during mealtime, drive time, bedtime, and in the morning. And we have a
responsibility as a church to walk alongside you as you train your children. We want to
equip you to pray and plan for your kids’ spiritual growth. We hope that our regular
ministry to children serves to reinforce what you are teaching at home, and we also
want to provide you with resources in this process.
1. Our Nursery is more than a babysitting service. It is the starting point for
nurturing the faith of the next generation. In the nursery, we seek to show
children the love of Jesus through care and prayer.
2. Our Preschoolers (ages 3-4) are also prayed for and shown the love of
Jesus. Additionally, they are taught to see and understand basic Bible truths.
The curriculum Colts Neck Kids employs for ages 3-5th Grade is designed to
teach the entire Bible’s storyline over a three-year period. All leaders have
been provided a suggested itinerary that ensures that children have fun, but
more importantly, that children grow in their knowledge of God’s Word.
3. Our Elementary Groups (grades K-2) are certainly prayed for and shown
the love of Jesus as well. Moreover, our teachers, with the assistance of the
curriculum, emphasize knowing how the major Bible doctrines and stories
fit together as one grand story with Christ at its center. Leaders are provided
with a suggested itinerary to ensure that children receive instruction and
have an enjoyable experience at church. If a child stays in Colts Neck Kids
ministry from kindergarten through 5th grade, he or she will walk through
the entire storyline of Scripture twice.
We offer kid’s programming at both the 9:30am and 11:00am Sunday services.
