OUR BELIEFS:
ABOUT GOD
God is the creator of the universe. He is holy, He is compassionate, He is good, He is faithful and He is just. The LORD is sovereign over all creation and all nations. The LORD is worthy of all glory, honor and praise. The LORD has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The triune God of the universe is three and one; co-equal, co-eternal and one God (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Son of Man. Jesus is co-equal with the Father as God. Jesus is the Word made flesh, the visible image of our invisible God, and the exact representation of God's being. During his earthly ministry Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. Jesus offered Himself as our substitionary and propitiatory sacrifice for sin by dying on a cross. Jesus rose from death to demonstrate His power over sin, Satan and death. Jesus ascended victorious to the right hand of God, is interceding for His people as our Great High Priest, and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Matthew 1:22 - 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-14; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-16; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13, Revelation 19:11-16).
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. The Holy Spirit reveals God's holiness, convicts the sinner of their sin, and gives an unregenerate heart the faith to confess Christ as Lord. After new birth, the Spirit resides in every true believer's heart as a seal and a guarantee of things to come. The Holy Spirit illuminates the Word of God to God's people. The Holy Spirit is our counselor, our comforter, and our teacher. The Holy Spirit provides Christians with power for Godly living, spiritual gifts for ministry, and the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; John 14:16-17; John 14:26, Luke 12:11-12, Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:22-25, Ephesians 1:13-14).
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God's Word. It was flawlessly revealed by God to human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because the Bible is inspired by God, it is without error, incapable of error, and the supreme authority of truth. The believer is sanctified in the truth of Scripture and the believer's mind is renewed in the truth of Scripture. The Word of God in Scripture is ultimately fulfilled in the Word of God incarnate, Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 12:1-2, John 17:17, 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6; Psalm 119:105, 160; 2 Timothy 1:13; Proverbs 30:5, John 5:39, Hebrews 1:1-3, Matthew 5:17-18).
ABOUT MAN
Man is fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Men and women were created in the image of God and are the crown of all God's creation. Each person, regardless of age, ethnicity, or social status has intrinsic worth. Due to man's rebellion against God he has become dead in his sin, a slave to sin, blind to the truth, and is worthy of God's just judgment. Apart from God's grace, man cannot save himself (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8: 3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Isaiah 59:1-2, Romans 3:23; Romans 6:15-18, Ephesians 2:1-10).
ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is a gift of God. Sinful humanity is incapable of purifying itself through good works. Sinful humanity is incapable of entering into the perfect presence of God unless the penalty of sin has been paid. Only by repenting of sin and trusting in the atoning, substitutionary work of Jesus Christ on the cross can a person be saved. Salvation is by grace, through faith, in Christ alone. You must be born again to see the Kingdom of God (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; John 3:3, 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; John 10:29; I Peter 1:3-5).
ABOUT ETERNITY
Humanity was created to exist forever. Man will exist either eternally separated from God in hell or in union with God in heaven. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be in union with God is eternal life. Saving faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. In God's perfect presence every tear will be wiped away, righteousness will be restored, and there will be everlasting peace. The blood-bought bride of Christ will spend eternity with God in the New Heavens and New Earth (John 2:25; 3:16; 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Revelation 21:1-4, I John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46, Acts 4:12).
